Battery died flat overnight

Post by philip »

I came out this morning. No start. No click. No turn flashes. Barely any head lamps.

Hmmm. With things like this, I start out with the obvious things first.

Quickly, it turned out the rear brake lamps stayed ON all night. The reason is the nylon button on the rear brake lever for the brake switch ... had crumbled. This prevented pushing the switch to OFF.

EASY to fix.

Fortunately, I have a new backup battery (from a Honda Civic) that I keep in my garage. It's going to take 24hrs to recharge that huge 27F battery.

Only has one battery?
Retired Pauly
Problem with being retired is that you never get a day off.

Your odd ball truck is NOT a 720 Nissan/Datsun. Gasoline D21 trucks don't have two batteries either.
