Did a tough thing today

I sold a car that meant a lot to me today. I sold my 77 Buick. It hadn't been driven or licensed in 4 or 5 years. Saturday morning I listed it cheap on Craig's list and sold it this afternoon. It was hard to part with it. I dated my wife in that car, and drove it daily for many years. The new owners are enthusiastic about fixing it up. I hope they follow through on it. I just don't have a place (or the time) to attempt a full restoration, and I also don't have a place to get it out of the weather. Couldn't bring myself to scrap it, but I sold it for a scrap price. To top it off, the buyer didn't have a good way to get it home since it wasn't running, and I ended up putting some time into it today so they could drive it home. After about an hour of work, I got it running well enough that they could drive it home. It was worth the time, I took it for a last cruise around the neighborhood myself. At least it didn't leave on a wrecker headed for the shredder...

I can empathize. I've had several cars I've sold wind up badly. I actually saw my first car ('58 Simca Aronde Elysee) on the junk truck to the crusher, two owners after I sold it. And what some folks did with cars I'd lovingly invested hours into . . . well, it's sad. That's why I love the happy ending of watching a car off into the sunset -- and, if you're lucky, never seeing it again.

ouch, that hurts, seeing your own car head to the crusher after you sold it. Thats why I hate selling cars, especially ones that have some age to it, its too prone to heading to the shredder.

Better than a "lovingly invested" old car ... just call it a "mutual divorce."

or ...

"Oh waitress ... CHECK please!"

I had a Buick Straight Eight Sixty Years ago, Coppers would stop me just so they could climb all over Her, where ever we went, Girl Friend told me to
get rid of it, as she was sick of it being a Centre point at anytime we went out,

Anyway, I got Lucky, and the New Girlfriend loved older Cars, and we enjoyed the mixed company for some years!

Gotta love them!

Highway man.

Indeed, although my wife accuses me of being 13 sometimes.
Don't care what she says.
Neener Neener, I know you are but what am I and armpit farts are funny.
Even more so after beer/wine/rum/tequila/etc.
