anyone here besides me who has a diesel Sentra?

There does not seem to be a discussion category for diesel Sentra engines.

Is one needed? Oris the engine just a FWD version of the truck engine?

The diesel Sentra has a CD17 engine, which is completely different from the SD2x and LD28. AFAIK no parts interchange.

If we get more than one Sentra owner, I would consider adding a CD17 forum.

If your Sentra isn't newer than, say 1983, you really owe it to yourself to buy this 1982 Sentra Parts Catalogue for $20. I have the 910 version and it's invaluable.

I've been looking at it for months, but can't quite bring myself to buy it.

no, mine is a 1984 50th anniversary model...whatever is so special about a Sentra I don't know but it's got a nice 50th emblem on it.

It's just sitting for the most part. I had plans to swap the engine into a T-top Pulsar but have too many other projects at the moment. Maybe someone will adopt her.

G20 very close to the late 90's australian pulsar,no diesels here just the GA-SR engines.the GA engine is as fuel thirsty as a CD20 so theres no interest in selling similar cars here :( .

european versions[sunny]get CD20 and are common.and ive seen some with the turbo.

primera is suposed to be a bigger car.i think someone fudged the tape measure as the cars ive seen i think it may have thicker moulding.
these are common buisness travellers cars with CD20/CD20T.

2 versions of CD engines-mechanical IP and fly by wire.the fly by wire looks better engine so i fit the early pump to it[it fits].

i have an early AD van[bluebird] engine one with dead intake valves-this must have been common on early models.easy to fix.CD20 is as good as a LD20T[allmost].

THe engine I get are mid-'90's, the only complant I have with them is they always have some little plastic peices broke on them by the time they get to me.
They are:
89.75hp(4400 rpm)
135.92 lb ft of torque (2400 rpm)
Redlines at 4800 rpm
Compression ratio is 22.2 to 1
Displacement, cc 1973

Anyways, My G20 is a auto, I get no less than 30mpg running about the city. I wish it was a 5-spd! You are suppose to be able to get 52mpg at a constant 56mph but that is impossible.. But I love it, I will be finishing my '98 frontier in a week of so. It will be a stick.. I am thinking it will get over 30mpg, maybe 35 if I am lucky.

Now we have 3 or 4 CD owners here. I just bought a 1984 Sentra with a CD17 engine. Incredible mileage. 54.2mpg after driving 65 to 75 for almost 300 miles.

Welcome!

That's a pretty small number of miles for a sample. I'd like you to check back in with an average, after you've accumulated more miles.

Read the Rabbit story. I was getting truly incredible mileage at times -- because the tank's volume was changing and I couldn't put much fuel in sometimes.

Wondering how many CD17 are still out there in the USA /and then all togehter ??? I remember my Dad had one Brand new in 1985 but got rid of it because it could not have the rear tire aligned and tire kept wearing out. It was a 85 Sentra ,and got 50+mpg because I have that time eched in my brain as i was 17 and thought Wow i could goto .... on $3.00 and back.It was Also the first manual transmission I ever drove. I do remember It smoked REAL bad if you tried to push "hot rod" it, even when it was new. I would like to find One and buy it today , but none to be found. THANKS FOR HAVING THIS FORUM IT MADE MY WEEK!!!!!
AND OTHER SITES WOULD BE APPRECIATED!!!!!! :P
