Errata in FSM, Errors in the FSM ?

#1

Post by DieselBuddy »

Tried looking for posting of Errors in the Factory Service Manual ( FSM ), but haven't found anything.

I was looking at the listing for the LD20 and LD28 and noticed that the Rate of Fuel Consumption is highest for when the engine is developing the MOST Torque, Where normally that is the lowest rate of fuel consumption on most diesel engines I have read about.

Does anybody know if that is correct ?

Does anybody have a list of errors in the FSM that need to be corrected ?

I found a bookstore in Vancouver, WA that carries a large automotive section and found a 1983 FSM. ( I have an 1982, and the 1981 FSM did not have the diesel ) So, I purchased the 1983 FSM figuring that most would apply.

Near the top of this section there is a sticky for errors in the FSM.

I agree the torque versus fuel consumption sounds fishy, but I don't have any data either way.

The 81 FSM has no diesel info in the main manual. Diesel info is found in a supplement to the main manual.
