Battery Issue

There are lots of batteries out there that still have 12 - 13 V in them but no capacity to deliver any amperage. A voltage tester will tell you if your charging system is working and delivering voltage ( and hopefully amperage at the same time ) to the battery when the vehicle is running. A load test of the battery will eliminate a lot of the guess work.

There is a draw coming from the battery. I disconnected the stereo, removed the alternator, and turned the fuse box switch under the dash to off. There is still a draw. Any help?

Start pulling fuses, see when it stops.

Normally, I'd blame the alternator . . .

Disconnect the two fusible links at the positive battery terminal. Still > 20ma draw? Disconnect the fuses as Rufus suggested. Then the IPC module on the left fenderwell. Gotta be one of those.

I talked to a shop and they said try the module on the fender first. The new alternator should be coming in today so ill start trying.

So im still waiting on the alternator because they messed up the address. I pulled every fuse except the engine control. The only things I left connected was the fusible links and the battery alt. in the module. There is still a draw and im getting worried.

Figured it out. Turns out the ac switch got turned on but my car has a aftermarket toggle switch for it so the pump was constatly engaged.
