i attacked the old ld out of the van today...
i sold the IP so i set about taking it off..
while i was at it i decided to strip it down for the crank..
then i decided to save all the nuts and bolts, they come in handy..
all the bearings look near new, the crank is immaculate..
need to get a 10mm hex 1/2" drive bit so i can take the head off..
pretty sure the bores will be good as with the pistons..
so id say its had a rebuild,so i think the problem i had with it was a dodgey valve...
bugger...
