Need retaining plate for FS5W71B (transmission).

Buy it, sell it, negotiate, haggle, drag it out from under the workbench or behind the garage and make it someone else's problem!

I tried to press out the reverse idler gear and neglected to realized that the plate was notched into the reverse idler shaft. Or does anyone think I could straighten mine out it is not that bad, I will try to upload pictures later.

Talk to Spencer at Transmission Xchange in Portland, Ore. He has (or had, years ago when I last spoke with him) all the parts for those trans. They also sell one of the "rebuild kits" for that trans, on eBay. They will ship, too, and their prices are decent.

I can't speak to straightening yours. I will say that the reverse and reverse idler are very high failure items in this trans. I think people grind reverse a lot in this trans, plus doing burnouts in reverse. And there are at least three different tooth counts for those gears.
