CL (Portland): 1982 Maxima Wagon, $800

Buy it, sell it, negotiate, haggle, drag it out from under the workbench or behind the garage and make it someone else's problem!

Folks-

Check this car out!
A hard to find '82 Datsun DIESEL wagon!

This car runs and drives very well.
Recent work includes:
-new injector pump belt
-new fuel filter
-new air filter
-tires with less than 5000k on them
-brand new $100 battery
-the brakes are good and solid!
-smooth quiet ride
-the radio works but the tape deck does not
-all the electrical stuff works, heat, lights, signals, wipers, windows

The car starts right up, doesn't smoke or burn oil, and has current tags.

The downsides: the body is dirty and has dings and also has some minor front end damage (previous owner had a low speed bender), the hood still shuts fine.
-power steering is caput, good old manual steering!
-the interior is shot, the seats are ripped up, ugly
-the locks and doors are finicky, I really think this is the major downside to these cars! But, once you get the hang of it they do lock and they do open...

I bought this to replace my old Mercedes 240D but after much thought and deliberation I'm gonna keep the Benz because I just can't bear to part with it!

Price is pretty firm, these things run forever and I spent a good amount of time and money getting the car into good running condition.

Oh yeah, you also get a copy of the actual Nissan?Datsun factory Service Manual, which is a real help!

AND, this would make a great candidate for BioDiesel or SVO conversion, I currently have a blend of B50 or so in the tank, you should of course change out the fuel lines and do some other things before you run a stronger blend but......runs like a champ!!

If I owned space I'd get this but... Here's your engine, Steve... Self delivering! If you go for it I'd be interested in the driveshaft and maybe the rear springs or other bits & pieces..
