Replace LD28 with RD28??

#1

Post by Kolatogari »

Hy there fellows. My Brother just cranked the head in his old patrol, witch has a RD28 engine. I have a spare LD28 that I used to have in my Range Rover.
Can I use the housing from the RD28 and bolt it up straight to the LD28, to mach up with the Patrol gearbox?

There's a LR adaptor plate on the LD28, that I'm planning on using on my TD27t engine, that i'm gonna use in my Range Rover, do you know if it fits, or do i have have to chance the bolt patter on the plate to bolt it to the engine?

Hope for some answers. Happy New Year.

RD28 and LD28 are not compatable.lower bolts are similar and starter is in the same basic spot.
the engine lays on a different angle.

be easier to fit a LD28/L28 patrol gearbox

TD and LD are not similar at all.

adaptor plate.if its a bit of steel plate you redrill all the holes.other wise dont bother. cheeper to get a petrol RB ser engine or a replacment RD28
