eBay: aftermarket PS hose, $10

Keep in mind that this hose is NLA from Nissan and most other suppliers. The L24e uses a Saginaw pump; the LD28 has an Atsugi, and the hoses are different. When mine blew, I built an adapter from the Atsugi fitting to SAE, and had the rest of the flexible part custom made. Ran me about $50. This one's a lot cheaper.

Yeah, they're ok as long as they don't ship DHL. In their auction rules they have the option to select the shipper they want. DHL never delivered something I ordered from them, so next time I insisted that they ship with UPS instead. I never would have gotten a refund for the item had it been up to them, they dropped the ball on the refund request for over a month.

Also, their combined shipping isn't worth much either, and they rarely respond to emails.

I went to the Corteco catalog and the listing for this number doesn't belong to the LD28 engine, that's why I didn't buy it when it was BIN several months back...I'm not confident that it is for the LD28. They had another PS hose at that same time, with the same number (maybe a few preceding zeros too), and listed the L24E as the correct engine...so it's really a guess as to whether it fits or not. Visually I don't think it looks right.

While I agree that it looks wrong (looks reversed to me), it might be that the picture got mirrored.

The Omega PS hose catalog is a PDF and it lists (pg 129) the LD28 hose as 73923. That's only one digit off the auction listing. I think it's probably the correct hose, but it's not certain. The L24e hose is a very different part No. in that catalog.

Al
You might be right, but I read the catalog a little differently.

1984-81 All: – gas engine: – Atsugi pump(27) 73923 — 73782 —
– Saginaw pump(2) 73781 — 73782 —
– diesel engine (return) — — — 492

I interpretted the "- gas engine: - Atsugi" as being only for gas engine, not LD28, am I wrong? Does the OE parts book suggest that the LD28 w/Atsugi and L24E w/Atsugi have the same number?

Maybe it's just the way they've written the catalog that made me think it wasn't the correct hose.

Also, I don't think it's mirrored, the number on the small card reads correctly in the photo.

Also, the other hose they listed way back when was listed for L24E with the part number 73923 IIRC.

Whoa! I just learned something new. Yeah, it hurt a little . . .

I thought that the '82 & '83 FSMs clearly delineated the GM (Saginaw) pumps for gassers, the Atsugi for diesels. Not so! The '82 FSM (pg ST-25) shows three PS pumps.

You're correct, there is an Atsugi pump for both the L24e and LD28, and they're different pumps, non-interchangeable. There's also the Saginaw pump on the L24e.
Also, I don't think it's mirrored, the number on the small card reads correctly in the photo.
Another score!

You know, the more I look at that auction's picture, the less it looks like it's for a Nissan rack at all.

That's what I thought I had seen in the 82 FSM, a L24E with Atsugi pump, but not the same as the LD28.

I agree, I keep looking at that PS hose and trying to imagine it in place and it just doesn't work.

They had that PS hose listed a long time ago for maybe $14.99 BIN, which would have been a steal had it been correct, but after I was unable to get a good mental picture of it in place I elected not to buy it. I emailed them about it but they never responded.
