This truck is very, very ugly. The bed is totally rusty, and the body is rusted and covered with moss. The diesel engine is really where it's at.

Nissan imported only a few years of these trucks with the famous SD22 4cyl Diesel Engine with a Bosch licensed "Diesel Kiki" inline injection pump. I bought this truck for $300, got it running again, then moved it from the sticks into portland. Parked in my driveway now, I have rebuilt the injectors at a cost of $150(have documentation) and reinstalled them. I thought that this would solve an early ignition problem that was showing up as pinging, knocking, and excessive smoking, however the problem has only gotten worse with the richer mix of fuel coming from the new rebuilt injectors. Not wanting to look deeper into the problem or spend more money on the issues. I no longer plan on using the SD22 Motor out of this truck.

Motor alone is worth the asking. Trans is good, body has life left in it. Could be an ideal Biofuel truck for around town!

I will assume that if you are looking at this, you know what you are looking for...

some info:

This truck is very, very ugly.
The bed is totally rusty, and has carpet glued into it (used to have a camper shell)
The body is rusted and covered with moss.
The heater, Lights, Brakes, Clutch, Transmission, Radio all work!
The engine is the Famed Nissan SD-22 4cyl Diesel!

I have been driving this truck all over Portland. It has 5 gears, and will go freeway speeds. Still getting over 30mpg!
problems:
The truck has low compression. I have not done an accurate compression test, so I don't know on what cylinder(s) or how badly. Could just be as simple as a valve issue? or Piston Rings/Sleeves.
I'm guessing it's a ring/piston problem, because there is some blow-by and it burns a quart of oil every 200 miles.
The truck will start if you Plug it in for 15 minutes when cold (it has an AC block heater/coolant pump)
The truck smokes quite a bit at cold startup, but then runs smooth afterwards.
The Watter Pump Bearing is going out.. needs to be replaced. Makes a nasty noise when you start it up, but quiets after it's warm. No coolant is leaking.... yet!
The engine lacks power, and smokes ALOT under heavy acceleration.
Basically the engine needs an overhaul.
However.. It is drivable, you won't go fast.. and you might leave a puff of black smoke when you take off from a stop light if you don't baby the accelerator.
some work has been done:
New Injectors! ($240)
Bad fuel removed from tank,
Tank pressure washed
Several tanks full of fresh diesel have been ran through the system all the algae seems to be gone.
New fuel filters.
New Battery.
New Clutch Master & Slave Cylinders, New Hydraulic lines.
Good spare tire and 4 OK to drive tires mounted on truck.

Could be an ideal Biofuel truck for around town! Or do as I was planning and rebuild the SD-22 and dump it in a Nissan 4x4!!! Off-Road Grease Ride?? Oh Yeah!

Please, no tire kickers. This is a project for the serious diesel head!
I thought that I had this sold to a kid that claimed he was up for it.. and I only ended up keeping his $50 dollar deposit when he backed out and never came to pick it up!
