Post by philip »

That's right. All day today ONLY - February 20 - is National Pancake Day at your friendly International House of Pancakes! Free short stack. Offers closes at 10PM.

How's that for "off topic?"

:)

"Short stack"

Bah! Who can eat just three pancakes?

(Says Al, who is probably 60 miles from the nearest IHOP)

You are SUPPOSED to order other stuff to compliment your free cakes.

Is is AYCE, or is it short stack? Last year, according to Philip, it was free short stack.

For free AYCE, I might find an excuse to be near an IHOP next week -- well, probably not, but it's a nice thought.

IHOP wrote:Join IHOP to celebrate National Pancake Day on Tuesday, February 12, 2008. From 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., we’ll give you one free short stack (three) of our famous buttermilk pancakes.* All we ask is that you consider making a donation to support local children’s hospitals through Children’s Miracle Network, or other local charities.

* There is a limit of one free short stack per guest. The offer is valid at participating restaurants for dine-in only while supplies last and is not valid with any other offer, special coupon or discount.
The "IHOP Locator" says there's an IHOP a mere 29 mi. east of me -- that's as the crow flies. Puget Sound isn't laid out like that. When you click on "Driving directions", it fesses up with 53 mi. and 1:40 minutes -- that does not include the actual transit time on the Kingston-Edmonds ferry.

It would take me much of a day to get there and back.

Ferry fare (car + driver) is $11.55 (each way).

I don't think I'll be participating this year. There is a price to be paid for living in paradise, and this month the price is free pancakes (while supplies last).
