Maxima keys
If the locks or ignition on your Maxima are tricky to operate, do yourself a favor and get Al to originate a key(s) for you. All the keys I had for one of my cars were second generation at best and worn. I had learned all the tricks and could get everything open - usually. The new keys work perfectly. After comparing the new to the old, I'm surprised the old worked at all.

The Subaru and Nissan locksets use the same keys (some of them use the same cylinders and switchgear) and the keys do seem to wear faster than some other makes. That's why making an original key for an old Subaru or Nissan is so rewarding: the difference in operation can be amazing. And unlike other cars, Nissans usually have the key code on the sticker on the glovebox door ('X' followed by four digits).
When a key is hard to operate due to a worn key or badly copied key, you're actually wearing out the mechanism using it that way. IOW, a new original key will make the locks last longer.
Sorry the postage was so high; I made you pay an extra $3 to do Priority (which got there in two days) rather than Parcel Post (which would have been a solid week).
