WTB: Maxima hood ornament

Buy it, sell it, negotiate, haggle, drag it out from under the workbench or behind the garage and make it someone else's problem!

WTB: Maxima hood ornament

#1

Post by kassim503 »

Sombody yanked the hood ornament off my car while my son took it out to visit the high school he went to. Sombody in that school took it and im making it my business to find out who, but ill spare you guys my extreme anger over the issue. So, I need a new hood ornament, preferrably from a '83 cause it says "DATSUN" in the nice square box style. But if anybody has any other years that they want to get rid of lay it out, I have no choice but to buy it

I've got an '82 and an '83. Probably more than one of each. Some of them I bought off eBay, others at JYs.

In 1997, about a year after I bought it, someone ripped off the hood ornament off my '82 Wagon. I immediately went to Nissan and ordered a brand new one. IIRC, it was about $57.

hmmm, im trying to find a nice hood ornament for rather cheap, i dont have too much to buy stuff with. I found one on ebay for 15 bucks but its says maxima instead of datsun ('84) do you wanna part with one of those hood ornaments? If you dont want to ill just buy the ebay one and call it a day, so there is no pressure or anything.

I have an '83 ornament on a hood, but it's a very good hood and I'd prefer to keep them together . . .

I have another '83 ornament, but I can't seem to lay my hands upon it right now . . . it may be over in storage. I think I paid about $10 on it at eBay last year. If I can find it, you can have it for that, I don't need it, I was just "saving" it . . . for what?

I have a pretty good '82 ornament here. I think I got it at a JY, it's in as good shape as the one I bought new in '97. It has the typical light corrosion on the inside areas but the brightwork is nearly perfect. You can have it for $5 if you promise to actually install it.

If you've got to have an '83, I'll try to find the eBay one. I'm not really sure where I put it . . .

does the 82 look like the 83 style? IIRC the 82 is the one with the wire around it that says datsun in gold plating

I spent a ridiculous amount of time looking for this today, without success.

that winner was me-

I bid once at 10 bucks or something, then decided to jack it up to 16 for safety. (At work while the listing ended) Id rather have two ornaments instead of none, but I have one and thats just fine :D

Good thing I didn't decide to buy it for you, then  I was thinking about doing that.
