Auction 220130111579, ends Jul-16-07 13:04:23 PDT
Condition:
New

THIS AUCTION IS FOR A BAND NEW KENT MOORE TACH-N-TIME DIESEL TIMING METER. PN J 33300-A. IT IS BRAND NEW IN THE BOX WITH ALL ORIGINAL PACKAGING. THE KENT-MOORE J 33300-A TACH-N-TIME IS A MICROPROCESSOR BASED SERVICE TOOL DESIGNED FOR FAST AND ACCURATE DYNAMIC TIMING OF MANY DIESEL ENGINES. USING THE START OF INJECTION/COMBUSTION SIGNAL AND THE CRANKSHAFT LOCATION SIGNAL, A MICROPROCESSOR GIVES A DIGITAL DISPLAY OF EXACT ENGINE RPM AND INJECTION PUMP TIMING IN DEGREES. THE TIME OF INJECTION/COMBUSTION IS PICKED UP BY EITHER OF TWO METHODS: 1. A TRANSDUCER THAT CLAMPS ON THE FUEL INJECTION LINE THAT SENSES THE FUEL SURGE IN THE LINE. OR 2. A LUMINOSITY SENSOR INSTALLED IN PLACE OF THE GLOW PLUG OF #1 CYLINDER. CRANKSHAFT LOCATION IS PICKED UP WITH A MAGNETIC PROBE. THE PROBE OFFSET IS AUTOMATICALLY COMPUTED BY THE TACH-N-TIME AND IS ADJUSTABLE FROM 0DEG. -200 DEG. ON ENGINES WITH NO CRANKSHAFT PROBE RECEPTACLE, AN INDUCTIVE TIMING LIGHT CAN BE ATTACHED TO THE J 33300-A TO VISUALL READ CRANKSHAFT LOCATION. AN ADJUSTABLE PULSE DELAY ALLOWS A DIRECT READOUT OF THE TIMING ANGLE.

WORKS ON GM 4.3L V-6, GM 5.7L V8, GM 6.2L V8, GM (ISUZU) 1.8L & 2.2L, IH 6.9L V8, PEUGEOT, VOLKSWAGEN, VOLVO, NISSAN, MITSUBISHI.

ALSO INCLUDED ARE:

J 33300-10A LUMINOSITY PROBE 10MM X 1.0 THREAD

J 33300-20A MAGNETIC CRANKSHAFT PROBE

J 33300-30A LUMINOSITY PROBE HARNESS

J 33300-61 TRANSDUCER HARNESS

28027 1/4" CLAMP ON LINE TRANSDUCER

With six hours to go, it's at only $160, which is a very good price for a brand-new J-33300.

Sold for $318. Whew!

I paid about $200 for one of mine, and something less than that for the other, but both are well-used.

Isn't DTI Tech-Time about the same?

No. The Tach-N-Time provides a high-voltage output trigger for your timing light, so you are not dependent upon having to use the engine mfgr's pickup point. The T-n-T can do (primitive) digital advance/delay on that signal -- with digital display of the offset value -- so your timing light does not have to be equipped to do that (ie you can use a less-expensive timing light). The T-n-T comes with a luminosity probe for those that want extremely accurate timing (annoying as it is to use).
