maxi radiator

I know of a guy who has a diesel maxi radiator for sale. It's from a 5 spd so no good to me. He says its a Modine and in very good condition. I think he's looking for like $20 + shipping. Any interest? sounds like a steal to me.

It is a steal, and I, too, can't use it. Not many MT LD28s around. I've driven one

but it was a beater.

Is that the only LD28 part he has?

My universal one in the max right now leaks, and im looking to replace it with a stock rad.

I don't need that radiator, Kassim; all mine are AT.

Isn't yours AT too? The oil-to-water heat exchanger works very well. It's hard to duplicate the capacity in an oil-to-air exchanger. Requires a very large cooler.

I won't miss the trans cooler, at least not in two of my cars.

Yeah, I have a AT, but the car is already set up with a overly large air-oil cooler with t-stat and was nicely pieced all together with 5/16 line. Works good enough for me, I cant get her over 190F no matter how hard I beat on it.

Odie, Ill buy up that rad from the guy thats selling it, you can PM me with contact info.

But is the transmission staying cool enough, using an oil-to-air cooler only?

Yeah, I was referring to trans temp, I hacked a gauge into my dashboard.

The heat exchanger at the bottom of the rad works really good though, It heats in the winter and cools in the summer

Wait a sec . . . Kassim, I don't think the upper/lower hose locations on the LD radiator are remotely compatible with the gasser version.

LD28 lower hose = 3" from passenger side edge
LD28 upper hose = 6" from driver's side edge

The upper hose looks right, but im not sure about the bottom hose. Ill check in the morning.

I'll have to wait until the guy gets back with me about the radiator. He's got some other LD28 stuff that I'm getting.

As soon as I know for sure, I'll send the contact info and y'all can try to deal with him direct.

still waiting on my parts or to hear back from the guy about the radiator...but I think I had told the guy no rush at one time

oh, ok

I kinda need it here on the east coast in a week and a half or so, well I dont need it but itll save me alot of grief pulling the radiator twice. Planning on doing a timing chain job which I really dont need, but I got the parts so why not
