ive been working on a civillian coach.missing a compressor for the A/C.
list this info up as most here will never see one.
on top of the engine is a california emision standards label.
from nissan diesel.
its nissan family name is listed as TD422.
horse power -128 @ 4000 US horsepower.
powersteering pump is on the far right with long a section belt well clear of the engine.
alt is 100amp 24V on left.twin a section fan belts.
ac comressor[big zexell] is under the alt and uses a B section belt with heavy duty idler bearing.
4 pulley on crank
heater hoses both come out of the thermostat housing and a silly short 1/4 rubber hose is used as a bleeder pipe from under the thermostat to the water pump inlet that loops up to the top.the bus in most markets uses a second radiator on the passenger side in parrallel with the radiator.it uses a 12volt fan with a droping resister.only comes on when hot.
fuel filer in next to the VE injector pump where its hard to work on.no aneriod but it has a fast idle.
lots of insulted tin pannels around gearboxand flywheel for noise reduction.
front axle was a beam type.i think an independant is optional like the toyota coaster.under the bus they are very similar.it had alloy wheels that i havnt seen on older models.
these buses are built with lots of silly brackets.
2 examples.
fuel filter is mounted on a pressed steel bracket about a foot high.its bolted on to the chasis with reinfocement plate and welited bolts.at the top is a weilded plate at a 45 deg angle to possition the fuel filter and hand pump between the bracket and the body work away from the entry hatch.to remove the filter the assembley must be removed from the bus.
brake pipes.the front hoses that go to the disc calipers are fixed to a bracket on the body held on with 6mm bolts.a short steel pipe conects this to a manifold that is held in place by a complicated bracket with lots of big bolts and reinforcment plates as it uses a sandwich idea as there is no hose to use.another steel pipe returns to the body to continue back to the master cyl.
this is all very toyota.
hand brake lever is in the drivers door way.you sit on it as you slide out.if it hasnt hurt you,you forgot to apply it.
these buses in aust have a massive clock in the center top of the windscreen.
