Thanks for the info Dave, I never thought that the trans should stay in 3rd at such low speeds
And I think you're right, I get a shift to 1st instead of 2nd from 3rd.
Yesterday while driving on a highway the trans acted funny. I was cruising at ~40 mph when I noticed that if I let off the gas the rpms are dropping to idle then jumping up aprox. 200rpm. It felt like there is no engine braking at all. When I pushed the gas again I felt a little click, just like the trans was engaging and disengaging. I also tried to turn off the overdrive from that little console switch but nothing happened.
Unfortunately I couldn't stop because of the heavy traffic but after a few miles everything went back to normal.
It was really hot yesterday, around 35 deg. Celsius. Maybe the trans got too hot and caused all this? Is there a temperature sensor in this transmission?
