ok, so i got a blown 2wd diesel trans out of my 81 720 short bed, and a 4x4 trans out of a later 720.

is it possible to swap the 2wd tail shaft and housing onto the 4x4 case?

or should i just swap the diesel bell on the 4x4 trans, and get an extended cab drive line, and shorten it?

or should i just find the correct 2wd tranny and change the bell on it?

i really wanna get my beater goin again..

or do i just get a drive line from a extended cab truck, and use the 4x4 trans and shorten the new drive line?

i wanna drive my diesel, and everyone around here has nothing but 4 speed trannies, so i cant find a trans to build.
