What kind of oil do you use for the diaphragm inside the governor on the injection pump ?

Also, I just bought a 1981 sd22 & it uses a qt of oil every 100 miles. It seems to have plenty of power. I love driving it around but the oil useage
seems very extreme.

Any ideas? Thanks

Depends on who you talk to. The diaphragm is mfgr'd from dead cow hide. Nissan says 3ccs of oil from dead fish organs (cod liver oil). Philip found NOT to use cod oil on shoe leather. Mike likes a proprietary concoction or motor oil.

I suggest you read both those threads and form your own opinion.

Yes, that is excessive, there is definitely a problem. The topic of excessive oil consumption has been vigorously discussed in the past. I suggest you read about member after_oil's ongoing oil consumption saga in this thread and come back with any Qs afterward.
