ld28 not starting

i am finish with my 400hp ld28 but every time i time the injector pump it keeps jumping off the timing marks and it would not start at all has any body deal with this before

More info would help. 400hp? You added another bank of cylinders, nitrous and a little nuclear fission? That hp all from a turbo setup?

What marks? Are you referring to the marks used to locate the IP belt pully? Belt tension(er) there OK? Using the correct belt?

Sorry for the simple Q's. Hard to know what to say w/out lots more info about the engine.
