Any modifications needed to install/opperate a supercharger

Discuss (and cuss) the Nissan LD-series OHC Six diesel engine, popularly available in the US in 1981-83 Datsun/Nissan Maxima Sedans & Wagons.

Any modifications needed to install/opperate a supercharger

I have a 1983 Nissan Maxiam with the LD28 diesel engine. I want install a supercharger but the typical ones that are belt driven. Instead I found a manufacture that makes a Nautilair (TM) 8.9" (226mm) Variable Speed Blower powered by a 120 Volt AC Input, Single Phase, High Output motor. I all ready have the 120 Volt AC supplied by a voltage converter.

I was told that you need to beef up the engine, but I am not intending to use this Nautilair blower all the time, just when I am entering a highway or when I need to pass another vehicle. Also I read the threads on deleting / removing the EGR valve (fitting on top of the valve cover to the air intake manifold), but local mechanic says removing it wont improve performance and infact will hurt engine performance. So can I safely remove it with my Supercharger upgrade?

This is my car sculpture. I figure Mercedes Benz, Cadillac, Rolls Royce, and Maybach have hood ornaments, so why cant I!

I would imagine the current draw to run that would be too much for the electrical system, even for a few seconds. I would install a second battery just for that kind of use. All the manufacturer's utilize a turbo-charger for increasing diesel performance, there are some turbo installations already on some LD28 engines. I've disconnected and plugged many EGR valves, should make any difference.
