well yeah, starters do suck in a whole lotta amperage, generally over 200A if its not a compact engine. I was just throwing it out there, that you can power all the junk in your house, with the same AWG as the battery cables.
...unlike your Christmas lights, for example.
Definitely in the holiday cheer!

Last year my Christmas display could probably fry a set of 4/0 cables :D

The length is approx. 38 1/4 inches from end to end. Don't yet know the diameter.
Trying to catch some Zs? Keep on dreaming.

Member DMS just volunteered this info:
DMS wrote:I have 5 starters from different year Z cars through 1983 280zx turbo and non turbo. They all fit on the same ring gear automatic or manual. I have had enough of these cars and Ive changed the starters on quite a few of them.

The LD28 starter however is clocked exactly the same as the Gasser, but it has a larger output gear. So if installed it slams right into the ring gear and bounces off.
If that's the case, then if someone put a gasser starter in your LD, it might not engage. Even though I had what I thought was a gasser starter in my '83 Wagon, someone might have taken a gasser starter and put an LD drive on it.

Something to think about.
