Talking Lady - Does anyone know how to overhaul it?

I have three of these black boxes that contain the mechanism for the talking lady: lights on, door open, lights are on, etc. However none of these boxes produce a clear sound of her voice. I believe the mechanism is a like a 8 track player of sorts but I never taken one a part. Is there and all digital version that someone created to replace this hard to find part? I know most members say she is annoying and rather have her unplugged, but she gives the Maxiam some uniqueness. My car is the 1983 model year. Thanks Paul

I've noticed that each Maxima has a little different voice, probably due to climate, storage, age, etc. To work on the unit I would just take it around to some local electronics shops and see what they recommend. If you have a dead one, maybe take it apart to see what it looks like. I also remember a U-tube video where a guy works on one, try that.
