Howdy folks My name is Phil I'm a datsun guy from age 14 or the last 22 years or so. I am embarking on a quest to make my 510 a diesel. For starters I'll show the car and give you it's current specs.
This is a 1981 hl510 2door sedan currently it has a z22s and automatic trans.
This powerplant makes just 102hp and not much torque. Differential ratio 3.36:1
My plan for this is to have it be as nice as possible but powered by a diesel engine. I'm looking at the LD20t as a possible choice but interference with the steering box might make an LD20 the choice and I'll add a turbo later. my concern with the LD20 is the sump.. are they front or rear sump? I would love to see 100hp out of this car as a turbo diesel intercooled.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
