First of all, excuse me for all the pictures that is dead.... :(

Swapped in the first Ford Escort seat today, started with the passenger side if it would cause any problems, now I know what to do on the drivers side… I guess that this will work well, it is about the same height as the drivers seat (Mazda 626) now, but the Mazda seat is adjusted all the way to the bottom, the passenger seat from the Ford is not adjustable and is about as high as the drivers seat are in the highest position, so probably I will gain some centimeters if I crank the Ford drivers seat all the way down…

Both Escort seats in place, and I can only say that I am satisfied.
Much better driving position than with the Mazda seats, and more space under the steering wheel for the legs.

How much modification to the mounting points did you have to do ?

Had to do cut down the "crossmember" (which is not much of a crossmember but I guess that you know which one I mean) and could then use one of those mounting points, another one I could drill through the floor where there already was an reinforcement on the underside, the two others are mounted with distances made of tubing under the seatrails and huge washers under the floor. Not hard to fit, but they are from the euro Escort which is a completely different platform from the american one, it's a bit complicated there, but the first american Escort and the third generation euro Escort was basically the same platform even if most parts did differ in the end anyway. The fourth generation euro Escort was made from circa 1986-90 and was only a facelift of the third generation, I don't know if the US Escort had any facelift but it kept the same platform during those years anyway. Then after that, Ford developed a new Escort platform for the euro market while the US market got a completely different model that was on a Mazda platform. I don't know which one you got in Canada (where you live IIRC?) but I guess the US model? Both of them was replaced by the first generation Focus around 1999-00 anyway, which was about the same car on US and euro markets. So I don't know if Focus seats might be a good fit too or if they're completely different.....

Swedish M90 camo in the planning, and the colours are a fair bit off, I know puke green aren't a very good camo colour...

Sorry.

Its a phrase to applaud your determination and focus on completing the job.

Staying true to achieving your original goal.

That's the best I can describe it.

A possible design for the front bumper. Turn signals/parking lamps are probably going to be swapped out for BMW E39 (5-series mid 90s-early 00s) side indicators since they are available with both white and amber lenses and have quite a neat format. Amber parking lamps are not allowed in Sweden.
