Seven years ago, I sprayed Great Stuff into a 2" hole in the back of my '82 Wagon (that lived in Penn. most of its life). It kept the critters out. Surprisingly, the rust is just in one corner up through the floor, not structural.

Al S.

I think it rotted out of the one side. I was very surprised to see this piece completley rusted away. It is obviously trapping moisture against the floor on the other side.

I'll need to address these areas at some point.

I don't think these areas are *critically* structural, but structural nonetheless.

I've already replaced the front rotors, but it still has a *little* shimmy, so I still need to work on that. (snip)
Check your ball joints and your strut spring seats too while you're in there!

Glad to see you bought the car because you finally have a diesel car like you wanted. You can't go wrong with these units as they are one of the most bulletproof diesel cars out there. Good luck with it.

and I LOVE it!

Put my snow tires on it today (3-6" expected overnight, and have been driving it everyday since I bought it. It is such a joy to drive. Much softer ride than my gasser and the "snow gear" on the 3N71B came in handy today.

The Wagons get around quite well, for a RWD rig. Much better than a comparable Toyota.

I just stumbled onto this thread. Great looking 810! I own an '81 810 as well, but is a sedan in the same color. I love it! It was my grandfathers car from 'Dec 1980 to 1999 and I have enjoyed it since.
