Router locked up

DSL router locked up today, about 1400 PST. I reset it (power cycled) at 1840 PST.

This Actiontec 1520 is a POS, but overall it's worked better than the Cisco 827 that I ran for a year. A 678 won't work, because I need to run bridged mode to a DHCP server at the ISP, and the 678 won't do bridged mode DHCP.

02CST = 4am to me. There are some cron jobs that run without intervention. I'll check the server logs when I get home, but I'm not going to be home till late tonight.

Unless I'm confused about where you actually live, it seems to me that if it's 2:00am CST, it would be maybe 12:00 (midnight) in your neck of the woods?

No, you're right, I just can't do signed integer math without buttons

Generically, I batch up server maintenance stuff at midnight and 3am, so it's very possible that Apache got fewer time slices at that time, yes. Things like walking the directories looking for ZIP files and resetting their OS timestamp to match the newest timestamp on any file within them -- that way if I download some ZIP from the internet using a program that doesn't honor the source timestamp, it gets reset on my system to something a lot more reasonable.

Taking SQL backups and moving the generations (ie renaming) happens sometime thereabouts too.

What the heck are you doing with this site at 2am anyway!?? Haven't you heard of sleeping?

I suppose I could set those tasks to a lower priority . . . or buy faster hardware. It's running on a 1GHz Athlon with 1GiB RAM at the moment.

The Intel switch flaked out sometime over night -- I've bypassed it for now.

Router lockup again today, sometime after 1400 PST and before 1530 PST. Power cycled at 1930. This was a strange occurence, because it was power cycled at 0700 this morning.
