I believe my starter has gone bad.
The (gear reduction) starter is unbolted from the engine. It is loose, but i cannot find the clearance to get it free. Do i need to remove the engine mount?
If i can locate a direct drive starter, am i better off using it?
Cannot remove starter

Advance Auto has a Hitachi DD starter available. Their pn 70337001692. I ordered it today. Hitachi came off so i want Hitachi to go back on. Just without GR.
I went in to purchase a different starter and asked the clerk to check brands available . I am suprised it was listed.
Napa and Advance Auto are the only two stores i could find DD starters listed as available on their web sites.
