LD20 chain driven -mounting?

#1

Post by fruteck »

Hy everyone, this is my first post so.....
Im kinda new in these waters... i have a nissan LD20 chain driven engine in my willys, i opened it and restores it somewhat not that it needed much work done
but now i just cant seem to get the cogwheel and chain on to the camshaft
i put the chain on it, i used my own timing markers, so thats not a problem but i need to stretch it upwards so it can get into its place but I get too much resistance and now im scared that I might brake something
am I doing it wrong or is it just the chain tensioner (hope i translated it right)

thnx anway

problem solved,
the tensioner is hydraulic just needed a couple of turns on the crankshaft and the chain was loose enough to be mounted

thanx anyway

Best kind of problem - the one that's gone already when you read it. <g>

Happy New Year.
