Windsock, the transmission is stock unimog.
Diff gear ratio 3.545:1
Hub reduction gear ratio 2.133:1
Total ratio 7.56:1
With 1st crawler 46.01:1 = total ratio 347.84:1
1.64 mph @4800rpm.
With top gear 1:1= total ratio 7.56:1
75.5mph @4800rpm
Not that I'd want to drive it at 75mph, the brakes are a very basic single circuit with drums all round and no booster

Very nice. Well done. I especially like the bumper flying out of the mog coming up the steps!
Anyway, the description says "LD28T 2". Does this mean you've twin turbo'd it? From the video it looks like you've got a splitter on the intake which seems to support this theory.
If so, VERY well done! Keep us updated.
Cheers,
LWW

Sounds a great project. For want of a build thread I am sorry for threadjack.JasperG wrote:cool build. Im getting ready to drop my LD28 into the frame of a Discovery and then mount an old series body around it. Long time coming for me. Gordo
Look at weight minimisation every step of the way. What sort of gearbox transferbox set up are you going with?
Discovery diffs or toyota/nissan? Loads of info about different diffs and axle set ups on pirate4x4.com and AULRO.com. Just be careful if you chose to post any questions in the former. They're a brutal bunch but technically the best collection of expertise ever assembled online when it comes to 4x4s.
Keep us posted.

Phil
