LD20T-II alternator testing

#1

Post by wbrproductions »

Hello,

Apologies if this question has been asked. I'm trying to do a basic works / doesn't work test on an alternator that came with the motor (bought off ebay):

Also wondering if anyone knows what the part number would have been, or might have been, that would have mated to this motor. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Brian

... and as a follow-up: is there a trick to separating the case, other than undoing all bolts and rapping it with a hammer?

Thanks,
Brian

E is case earth.

the terminal is battery.B or B+

the 2 termilals in the water proof plug are
battery-S[source]-used as a signal for the regulator.this can be conected to the battery conection it normally constant power.so if you conect a test light to power it wont light up.the other light L is ignition light and will light up untill you spin it fast enough to fully charge,

Might "Search" the site looking for "alternator". Our host Al has done a lot of work with these and there are several threads with pics.
