sd22 bell housing info needed

SD diesels were widely available in the US in the 1981-86 Datsun/Nissan 720 pickups, and in Canada through '87 in the D21 pickup.

buddy of mine has a L28 turbo engine for sale i was wondering if it would bolt up to my sd22 5spd transmission ? :?: :shock:

which side is the starter on should be the easy way to check. im not to farmilair with the L28 but I thought it used the ka24e housing as they are brothers
