I believe there are a number of posts within this CD forum that cover the procedure.
That being said, I think that some of the posts that had pictures hosted by photo bucket no longer work, but the procedure is still there. You will have to read through some of them to get an idea.

If you can find a service manual on ebay that'll be a big help. If you haven't noticed already there are 2, one for the cam timing and another for the IP. The biggest deal I had with it was locating a new tensioner for the IP belt and ended up finding one on ebay UK. No luck here in the states.
You can also find mechanical parts on Anayama.com/en. It'll take about a couple of weeks as the parts come from Japan and you aren't obligated to pay if something isn't in stock (or at all) as you put in an inquiry and they will see if the parts are available and give a quote. That's where I found a new cam sprocket (mine was cracked!).
Mine is sick right now though

Thanks for the info. Since posting I picked up a Factory manual off ebay and it has plenty of info on the cd17 engine. As of right now, I've got it running but it's running rough and pushing out white smoke. The previous owner changed out the water pump and apparently didn't time it right and broke the belt on start up. I was hoping there was no damage since it didn't snap at road speed. I think there's a few more things to try before I pull the head off and check for a bent valve. I'll keep updating as I find time to tinker with it.

You don't need a host here, you can attach photos here directly from your computer, click on "post reply" then click on "choose file" in the box below the reply field, once the file has loaded click on "Add the file" and it is inserted into the reply field.Sleestak wrote:Nice!
