According to Rafe, about 2 hours east of LA (MapQuest puts it at 2.25 hrs). As a kid, we used to camp at Joshua Tree National Monument (now a National Park, since 1994, thanks Google). Joshua Tree (the city) is apparently just north of there.

Any needy members in SoCal? I just got back from that area, but I'm now 1200 miles north.

Thanks Al, it is a great place to camp even in the winter months...
I may put an ad in the local penny saver out here and then it will go fast.
I'm only looking to get around $500 for it. The registration is valid but I don't want to drive it until the turn signal covers are up to spec and haven't been
able to find the right ones out here. Also the dents may prevent the plastic covers to fit right. Anyway, if someone wants to give it some love let me know and I'll hold off on the add in the Penny Saver.

Yep, at 34 I just make the cut off age to join the army.
I'll be the old man at boot camp.
I passed the physical yesterday and scored a 75 on the asvab test.
I may go into a job training for mechanics that way I can do what all you guys do...

After nine weeks in basic training I will have 12 weeks of job training as a deisel engine mechanic in South Carolina at Fr. Jackson. Thanks for the great webiste you created.

Mostly, the site is just canned php software; I just host it because I already have the server sitting here for other purposes, and my broadband fix is a "fixed expense" already. As long as this site doesn't require a huge amount of time for me to kick into shape, I'll host it. It's certainly kinda fun kickin' tires with other LD28 owners . . . for a long time, I never ran into another one on the internet.
