Running B100 on a trip this weekend I got a hair over 43 MPG, average speed of about 50 MPH over a course of 220 miles total. I had warm weather on Friday (70*F) and a 10 MPH headwind, today was calm and rainy with highs in the 50*F range.
If I use my 6% conversion BD-D2, I predict that this would be about 45.5 MPG on D2. I base this conversion on lots of personal MPG data running both fuels over the same routes. I was going pretty slow. 50-55 MPH on I-5, and 45-50 MPH on HWYs 530 and 20.
The economy gains I am seeing from speed reductions are not enough tho keep me going slow. I actually like it. Which will keep me in the slow lane.
Best wishes,

There are legal places (ie AAA Automobile Club) who can check the accuracy of your car's speedometer and give the odo/speed cards.moose60 wrote:-snip- I base this conversion on lots of personal MPG data running both fuels over the same routes. Took another run down to LaQuinta desert (next to Indio). Of course it was HOT and of course ... I ran the a/c all the way and back on I-10, most of the way at 60 mph. Empty truck.
Round trip: 262 miles
Gallons: 6.7 gallons

Re: 39 MPG!
Friday (8/25). 630 mile round trip to Oatman, AZ.
I-15 to Hesperia truck stop: 93 miles / 2.5 g.
(no a/c, Cajon Pass to 4,400 feet, 60 mph)
I-15, I-40 to Needles: 198 miles / 4.9 g.
(no a/c, down hill to Needles (900 ft), 60 mph)
I-40, AZ95, Oatman, return home same route: 348 miles / 9.7 g.
(A/C, headwind, altitude climb, 65 mph)
Much of the return trip experienced ambient temperatures above 100 degrees. 108 in Needles.
Home to Needles: 39.3
Needles/Oatman/Home: 35.8
Hi just noted you reference to Oatman. Last year I hired a 22ft camper van in LA and my wife and two kids did a 3 month 11,000 trip around the states.
Oatman was one of our favorite towns.
