SD33 camshafts

Hi

Can enybody say - is the camshafts in SD33 and SD33T exactly same - or with some differences ?

Take a look at this thread.

There is a photo of a newspaper article on the changes Nissan made to the T version of the SD33. It states that the camshaft journals were enlarged - although I can't see why they did that ! Maybe there was some other problem Nissan fixed when they did the SD33T

So, in answer to your q, based on this, yes there is a difference.

It means engine block's are different :roll:

I was hoping to find some info abouth cam lobe differences (Some non turbo engines intake and exhaust valves are open longet time or larger then turbo versions)
In the manuals is that the cam hight for limit when checking them is for the sd33 and the sd33t both 36,8mm

according to 1981 genuine nissan manuals they are the same..in every way..ie identical..

can't comment on later models...

There are three different ordering codes =
'79-'83 SD33 = 13001-90109 & 13001-90111
'83-... SD33 & SD33T = 13001-C8600
seems - some are same - some are different :roll:

more info needed then!!

as i have 3 sd33 engines circa 1980-87...

now the manuals i have are 1981..manual 1 sd22 and sd33..manual 2 sd33t supplement...both are genuine nissan books
both are very helpful giving all the camshaft timings and lob hight jounal dia etc...both are the same...

up to 1981 atleast..
