LD20 T-II u.s. owners rebuilt one?
Beware of craigslist scams.
That said.
My LD20T-II is just back from the shop, to diagnose why it would not run.
Low compression was the result.
Like 250 in 2. and 300 in other 2.
Leaking past rings., and 2 shot glow plugs.
SO, rebuild? or part out and move on?
Has anyone here in the states rebuilt one.
I need to know how hard the parts I will need are to get.
The starter was a nightmare. $300.00 special order from england.
So far, I have $1,600 in the motor.
Cut my losses, or spend a little more and have it rebuilt?

I can tell you that the pistons are not the same bore as the LD28, so you're going to have to source pistons/rings from overseas as well.

Check out page 10 of this pdf file for pistons - some oversize available.
http://www.bowdenengineparts.co.nz/pdf/pistons.pdf
Other parts available via the same website for LD20 I think.

USD is not bad against the NZD currently so check out the prices and do the calculations back to USD. we pay 12.5% sales tax (GST - goods and services tax) but thuis is about to go to 15% after the Govt budget i think but as an overseas buyer you'd most likely be exempt from paying this so be sure to clarify the oprice you are paying is GST excluded.
All the best.
