Here we go again,
I have two sd33's in the boat. While doing test runs at 2800rpm starboard engine rpms fell to 2200 and would go no higher.
Out of gear engine will rev up without issue. This condition only happens under load. Port engine rpm's fine. I replaced the fuel filters with no effect. I removed the injectors and had them rebuilt at FH injection. Now engine runs great but only goes to 2500rpm.
What next?? I'm hoping that I have a fuel restriction somewhere in the system in the tank or lines. Would it be the inj pump? otherwise the motor runs fine.
What would you do?
Thanks for any input.

Re: Fuel starvation? Not reaching RPMs under load
Recheck the fuel filters. If they are gasoline rated (not diesel), fuel starvation is a result.

Update
Reply to previous post... I have the same filtering the other motor with no issues.
I've replaced rubber fuel lines , re changed filters, cleaned the inlet pump filter screen, rebuilt lift pump, ran out of a jerry can (bypassed tank)......no change. I'm about to pull the injector pump and send it in to get checked and recalibrated, expensive.
Any ideas????

Try winding the smoke screw in 1/4 turn and see what happens then.
Go in 1/4 turn increments.
Keep track of how far you move it .
( yes, in is more out is less )
