Does anybody know where I can find a clutch damper cylinder for a 1981 datsun diesel 720?

Not familiar with your term. Could you be referring to the clutch master cylinder or the slave cylinder?

Re: clutch damper cylinder
My understanding on how it works is it softens the engagement of the clutch to the flywheel. It was only on the diesel trucks to my knowledge. I believe it was there in the event you dropped the pedal hard or was abusive with the clutch with the increased torque of the diesel it would be easier on the transmission etc. Kind of like an addition to the dampening built into the clutch disc itself.
That is a guess my part.

Re: clutch damper cylinder
The pictures don't load up for me. There is no such damper on the Maxima LD28 diesel, and on my Ford truck, there is no damper in the hydraulic system. Even the Chevy truck Duramax, no damper. I would think the hydraulic unit for the clutch on the firewall would be the master cylinder.

Re: clutch damper cylinder
By the time I wrote the picture loaded, but I don't recognize the unit. I looked at my parts catalog and they show the clutch master and slave cylinders, but no damper. If this is a damper, and it's causing the clutch to be inoperable, simply routing the hydraulic line around the thing and by-passing it, the clutch should work, maybe one needs to be gentle in releasing the clutch?

It is the master.
This is in addition to it.
The master feeds to this and the from this to the slave on the trans.

Re: clutch damper cylinder
Further to my previous post. Apparently they "Nissan" used the damper on all models of the D21 gas included. .
I hope then pics load correctly.
