I see a lot of talk here about "Crank pirates" but I have never managed to understand what that means...
So... anyone that can explain that to a stupid person like me?

Re: Crank pirates
There are guys that were/are buying up the 6cyl diesel engines only to get the crankshaft from them for hot rodding 6cyl gas engines.
They would buy perfectly good diesels just to get the crank and then scrap the engine.
Sinful and tragic at the same time.
philistines ! ! ! !

Re: Crank pirates
Aha, then I understand why I haven't gotten the point until now, the LD was never common here except for in 4 cyl form in early 80s Bluebird diesels.... I doubt we ever got the 6 cylinders.... And building L-series gassers here is really not a big thing either, may they be 4 or 6 cylinders...so thank you for the explanation.
