Thanks for I.P.C. pics

SD diesels were widely available in the US in the 1981-86 Datsun/Nissan 720 pickups, and in Canada through '87 in the D21 pickup.

:D Thanks for all the great info. I run a 82 720 with the sd22. The engine runs great, starts great no matter what temp. My only real problem or issue, was the I.P.C. I have been using a cable since I bought the truck . My unit works fine but is indexed wrong, i.e. won't start but would run and shut down. My F.S.M. is limited to diagnosing to the unit only. Not to repair or adjust the unit itself. Your photo hi-lighting the index marks on the internal gears, solved my problem. I realigned the gears and volia works great. Thanks so much for the help. My truck runs great and the tranny is working fine, but the rest of the truck is falling apart, damned rust. I've planned a swap. SD22 into a 87 Toyota one ton. I'll post photos when I can. I'm wrecking the rest of the truck if any body needs bits, e-mail me. I also know of three other 720's awaiting the crusher all diesels. All located in the coombs area on Vancouver island . Thanks again for all the great info

Should get the drive trains outta those other trucks... You never know when you might need one of those bits.

I put my SD22 into a 1997 Ford Ranger that had a v-6 standard tranny in it.

Hi Pete, and welcome to the site. I agree with Nissan_Ranger and getting the drivetrains would be a very good idea. Do you happen to know if any of them have the SD25 engine as a powerplant? Thanks for your reply.
