Datsun hood ornament from gasser sedan - 82?

Got this as misc from the JY visit. It's the square kind w/black center with narrow blue trim. I'd call it "fair +" shape. Chrome's mostly there but with some chips and accumulated grunge (that should wash off); lettering is excellent but gold inlay border is broken a little on one side . It has a really weird transverse angle to the mounting stud that I didn't notice til I got home, but I figure that's something to do with avoiding the hood latch.

Anyone want it, drop me a line, else I'll make a new paper weight.

Looks like you are describing an '83.

83's say datsun and 84's say maxima on the hood ornament.

I think the 82 and 81's are rectangular and say datsun on it with no glass on it

Must be 83. I didn't look much further after I saw the interior was trashed and it was junked becuz of an engine fire.
