LD28 CRANK NEEDED!!!

Buy it, sell it, negotiate, haggle, drag it out from under the workbench or behind the garage and make it someone else's problem!

LD28 CRANK NEEDED!!!

#1

Post by DMS »

Im moving in June. I was almost finished installing my LD28 in my 260z when I dropped the #2 rod. I need to be a "crank pirate" but it is to fix my current LD diesel. I have a mid sump engine so it's had to just find another engine and drop it in. I think it's hard enough to find a diesel Maxi as a donor anyway. I have parts to trade: I have 2 other LD heads complete one with an extra set of injectors and a LD28 maxima bare block. I also have Datsun Z, Roadster, and 510 related parts. I will pay cash if local or if you are far away and need to ship let me know how to pay. I have paypal as well. I am moving to a place where the car must run or I cannot have it. That means the car will sit in a field 3 hours away from me for like ever!

My crank needs magna fluxed, trued, ground, re-chromed to STD, and then I can use it.

I am currently in Hollister Ca 95023
but I am moving to Sacramento Ca by June 7th

I can't help you with a crank nor a complete engine, but I'm interested in hearing how you "dropped a rod". Is there a story there?

that My engine suffered fatigued rod bolts. I had the pan off before i installed the engine. I checked the torque on them 3 times... with a good torque wrench. I will know more after I get the engine apart. I pulled the head a while ago. The head looks okay. I need to check #2 valves. Im going to get the block machined while Im at this. I pulled the coolant drain plug and it was full of rust. The head surface is in great shape. The hones look okay, but I will take the time to de-glaze them buy some rings if i can find a good set. Im going to get some bearings as well. I have a lead on a Fel-Pro head gasket... The one that is off the selves and out of production... Found it on a shelf for $80. The intake and exhaust gasket is the one I cant find so i left them on the head.
