Running electric fan

SD diesels were widely available in the US in the 1981-86 Datsun/Nissan 720 pickups, and in Canada through '87 in the D21 pickup.

Running electric fan

#1

Post by pidder »

I am currently transplanting an sd22 into my suzuki samurai. All is going well and am getting close to firing her up. I had to remove the clutch fan due to the size of the engine area in the samurai. I am going to run an electric fan on the outside of the rad pushing air in. After reading the posts on this forum I understand the single wire sensor on the thermostat housing is for the temperature gauge. My FSM says the 2 wire sensor is a water temperature sensor. Was wondering where on the original truck that sensor would go to and if i could use it to turn the electric fan on and off. All help would be appreciated. Thanks. Norm

So when I was down at the local auto parts store (lordco) I picked up a complete kit to wire in the electric fan with an adjustable switch to set the temp that i want the fan to come on to.
