Thats right Its crazy. I enjoy it I guess if you pay the $14.00 toll fill up in there service plazas they let you get away with speed. Florida is long and boring flat and straight.

Florida is home of the best demo derbies and mud bogs and spring break parties and the best nascar!

Florida's pretty good compared to loser Long Island, NY. All we do is read about how Billy Joel gets into car accidents every weekend in the hamptons

Here's a link for the mods needed for the swap. You can also find more in the archives on zcar.com using "240sx transmission swap" or variations.

I know there was a thread that had pics of the modified transmission crossmember, but couldn't find it.

run down of mods needed for the swap---

machine the z/zx bellhousing to allow it to use the larger bearing from the sx.

machine the shift rod holes to allow for the larger shift rods from the sx tranny.

shorten the driveshaft.

modify the transmission mount to allow the longer sx transmission.
(bold added by me for emphasis)

Unless I'm missing something, it guess this means the bellhousing can be machined to take the larger bearing - whether or not you keep the back half of the trans. DLH, thanks for the info.

I suppose you could if you wanted to keep your B box. The atlantic z club site has a link to someone that can do the mods to your bellhousing in case you decide to do the sx swap. They will know exactly what to do if you can't convey that to your machinest.

I have not done the swap myself yet. I have just been going off of the threads on the subject.
