Manifold Head Gasket

SD diesels were widely available in the US in the 1981-86 Datsun/Nissan 720 pickups, and in Canada through '87 in the D21 pickup.

Manifold Head Gasket

there was a gasket on the header when i pulled the manifold. my not-so-favorite LAP says their books say my truck doesnt need it. what do you think?

By "header", do you mean the headpipe-to-exhaust-manifold? If so, none of my older SD22s has a gasket there, but if the pipe has been replaced, some of the universal replacement pipe ends that exhaust fabricators use, use a donut.

yeah, thats what i mean. i had to hitchhike into town today for an appt. so i grabbed a gasket. not a donut.

the pipe in my truck is flat at the end, with 3 bolts.
