LD28 engines for sale

Buy it, sell it, negotiate, haggle, drag it out from under the workbench or behind the garage and make it someone else's problem!

LD28 engines for sale

#1

Post by DMS »

First off I am not the seller or owner, but Ive been looking for the engines and came across several more than Id like to buy. They are mid and front sump engines. Jesco has one front sump if you speak with Enrique for a good price. They have several other front and mid sumps including the one posted here with the turbo charger...I beleive the figure was 17. They test their engines and will sell you a core engine or a running engine. They explained to me that means they tested and failed these core engines. Rather than rebuild them they stuck them on a shelf. The core engine I am buying is a mid sump that runs but has low to no oil pressure. So that is the difference in price.
C&T has a mid sump as well they are asking $650 and that is a tested known running engine.

Jesco 209-537-5057 ask for Enrique
C&T Engine Japanese Engine Inc (909) 923-5588 ask for Peter

Hope this helps someone
Let them know Ray sent you and they shouldnt inflate the prices.

Jesco Feedback

#2

Post by DMS »

Well where do I start.

I have been talking with Enrique of Jesco for the past week and a half about procuring a LD28 as most of you know. After much talk about mid sump and front sump engines he was able to dig the engine out and let me know it was a mid sump engine in fact. I spoke with him and was worried about not being able to see the engine before hand. He assured me it was a running engine but that the oil pressure was low. He also noted several times that I was not to get the high pressure pump in this purchase. He might have also mentioned me not getting the injectors but I dont remember clearly on that. I did in fact end up with the injectors. So he made it clear that he could not supply pictures of the engine to me that I would have to take time off work to go see it. That wasnt possible for me so I had to take his word or go elsewhere. Jesco isnt to small of a company so? I had to send up my friend to pick up the block 90 miles from me one way. I guess Enrique told my friend that the engine was missing the valve cover and I could keep the injectors. Well the engine arrived to me as a bare block and head. No balancer, no oil 2 water cooler, no intake or exhaust manifolds, and no valve cover. I have everything to make it running mind you minus one good harmonic balncer so Im not to worried. I just didnt receive any communications about the current condition I guess. I was assuming he was telling me over the phone the current condition of the engine. So I could have paid an extra 150 bux and had a complete running engine. Im not to horribly upset about the situation I got what I needed for the most part and it was better than paying 1750 for the engine. For future referance I would probably buy again from them, but I will be more cautious and do what it takes to veiw what they were selling to me since they cannot describe the current state of their engines are at least what their customer will be getting.

Ouch! Lots of difference between "running engine" and "bare long block". Thanks for the info.
