Austin (TX) CL - 83 Diesel Wagon, 80K mi, 'bad' IP

Buy it, sell it, negotiate, haggle, drag it out from under the workbench or behind the garage and make it someone else's problem!

I'd say that is pretty much the scenario. In this case I think I may have actually been talking to two different people on the other end. Husband and wife possibly. I was ready to buy after a couple more questions were answered. Oh well.

Hmmmm......looks like.........my car

Guess what I found trolling all the old posts? my car!

I'm the guy that bought this car. I had emailed her back and forth a couple times but could never get away to get up there to check it out.

Anyway, I guess we kinda clicked cause when I did get up there a couple weeks later she said she was really happy that it was me that came to get the car since I had an 82 wagon before and really missed her.

She had a lot of interest from some flakey Z-car guys  ...... wanna guess what they wanted? so she said she just kinda ignored most of the other inquiries at that point.

I mean, this car was a "family" member. She made a big deal about how bad they wanted the car to go to a loving home. I felt like I was going through an adoption screening. Well, maybe I'm exagerating a little

So I guess everyone wants to know about the car. Well, it was her mother's car...title was still original in mom's name dated 1983, Louisiana (Batton Rouge). It's clean, zero rust I can find.

The IP drips, but seems to drip less now that I've been driving it daily and mixing a little WVO in the tank. A little strange choice for front seat upolstery, but OK.

And runs great and very smooth. Don't look for this car to re-appear on CL or eBay for a long time...

I hope your ears didn't burn too bad.  Glad to know it found a good home. I still want an 83 wagon that nice...
