Oil Pumps

Does any one know if the oil pump on the ld28 is the same as the l28et motor? The Turbo gassers and na gassers are different, the turbo one being a larger, high volume deal. Have been in the ATLANTIC Z CAR CLUB forums and some one has taken pics to show the difference between the 2, but have not been able to get measurements on the gears to determine if the diesel already has the "better" high volume pump....
could be a nice upgrade... as oil in the diesel is key to realy long life..

i knew i should of used a turbo pump for my oil pump replacement. ahhhhh

When you do it, make sure you are aware of the distrubtor/ oil pump drive, it can fall out and you lose timing. Not sure why I didnt think of it (no fun putting it back).

You will find that the L series pumps are basically the same. The pumps do not really have critical specs between lseries models. I mean for the average joe with a Lseries that is...

If you want to do a little research look up the author JeffP @ zcar.com
look over his posts related to the oil pumps. He has already done all the research your looking for. I beleive he found that the L28et automatic model pumps flowed the best when blueprinted. But unless your building a beast that needs all that volume for who knows what the pumps are pretty much the same diesel or not...

L series petrols[not L28ET] are listed as 43 Psi at 2000 RPM.
Z series 50-57 Psi at 2000

LD chain drive. 71 PSI at 3000 RPM.
LD20II 43 PSI at 2000|RPM

this is not flow rate just oil pressure regulator setting.
and ive seen other specs.
